“Tim has always spoken very highly of you. I wanted to express my gratitude to you for having given Tim the best support we could have wished for. I believe it is thanks to you that he has confidence in his ability to achieve well. You have been a significant, caring and motivating teacher that has made a real difference in his learning outcomes.”
Update- 2025
“Tim has opted for a career with the ADF and has just finished his final year of training as a combat engineer. He is very successful and came out in the top third of his unit. He has now been given the role of a troup commander as his first placement as a fully qualified officer.
I still believe that the work you did with Tim was a major contributor to him successfully finishing school with an Atar of 86 and not letting his dyslexia hold him back.
I am forever grateful to you for that.”

Update 2025
I’m currently studying fine arts at UTas part time, but I’ll be transferring to RMIT next year to major in ceramics. UTas can be a bit frustrating at times so I’m really excited to move to Melbourne and actually get to study ceramics. I’m also working at Hill Street heaps and managing to stay on top of my uni work at the same time. Poppy

“Katrina has been working with my daughter for the past three years and the growth in her has been truly remarkable. She has gone from a shy, introverted seven-year-old who hated learning to read, to a confident and relaxed student who can now read proudly in school assemblies. The program and Katrina's one-on-one teaching model has broken things down into a format she can understand and retain. But the thing I value most, is the confidence and self-belief Katrina has instilled in my daughter, through positive reinforcement, and her bubbly personality. She is a cheer leader and motivator and helps children recognise their dyslexia as a super-power and not a weakness.”

“My 8yo daughter first came to Katrina because she was struggling with basic literacy skills and had fallen well behind her peers at school. Now, after 20 weeks and two sessions a week, my daughter is well on her way to becoming an independent and fluent reader and has also shown significant improvement in writing and spelling. Katrina’s carefully tailored approach has suited Tessa’s learning style, allowing her to learn at her own pace and thereby acquire the literacy skills required to successfully engage with future learning.”

“I'm very proud of him. His routine functional use of reading and writing has exponentially improved since he started with you, thank you.
His mid year school report was really pleasing, he is being assessed as meeting the average performance for all his subjects where a couple of years ago he was consistently below standard for most things.”

“My daughter is an adult with a rare metabolic disease resulting in intellectual, cognitive, speech and visual perception impairments.
To safely manage the special diet necessitated by her condition, my daughter faces major challenges in not being easily understood when speaking and not having the literacy skills to read menus, recipes and food labels.
We accessed the Orton-Gillingham program after learning of the success reported by families with the same condition overseas.
In the time my daughter has studied with Katrina Sutton, I have noticed an improvement in the legibility of her handwriting and a demonstrated increased understanding of text messages. She is using her improved literacy skills to write songs and research things that are of interest to her on YouTube. She reads signs in public places out aloud to me to show off her skills!
She adheres to the commitment of 2x 30-minute sessions per week, the frequency and short duration meet her learning needs of regular repetition and practice. Stacey’s motivation and willingness to attend 2x week indicates her enjoyment of the sessions and feeling of success (eg. It is not confronting and she is gaining confidence with literacy)Description goes here
